Nowitzki strugglesWednesday 8/13, 11:21 PM CT
Dirk Nowitzki had a tough game for Germany, as they got beaten by Spain in the Olympics by a score of 72-59, according to the AP. Nowitzki scored 11 points on just 5-of-15 shooting, and grabbed only five rebounds.

Our View: Team Germany managed a 15-12 lead after the first quarter, but Spain took the lead in the second and never looked back. Nowitzki faced triple-teams every so often, and clearly as he goes, so goes his squad.
Williams tradedWednesday 8/13, 8:55 PM CT
Guard Mo Williams was traded to Cleveland today in a three-team trade, according to the AP. Williams will head to Cleveland, Desmond Mason and Joe Smith go to Oklahoma City, and Milwaukee receives Damon Jones, Luke Ridnour and Adrian Griffin.

Our View: Williams goes to Cleveland to be another scoring option apart from LeBron James. His fantasy value remains solid at point guard.
Murray signs with HawksWednesday 8/13, 5:39 PM CT
Ronald Murray has rejected overtures from European clubs and has signed with the Atlanta Hawks, according to the AP.

Our View: Murray joins the Hawks as part of a replacement for Josh Childress, who went to play in Greece. Murray's fantasy value is minimal unless he sees a lot more minutes.
Gasol apologizesWednesday 8/13, 4:55 PM CT
Pau Gasol and his teammates on Spain's basketball team are taking heat for a promotional picture they shot that shows the whole team using their fingers to make their eyes look more Asian. The team apparently did not believe they did anything wrong, but are now apologizing, according to the AP. "I'm sorry if anybody thought or took it the wrong way and thought that it was offensive," Gasol said.

Our View: It is easy to see how the photo could come across as the Spanish team mocking the Chinese, and it was not a wise thing to do. However, the team's apology has seemed to be accepted, and most are moving on, lesson having been learned.
Gist to play in ItalyWednesday 8/13, 11:44 AM CT
Power forward James Gist has signed a deal to play for Angelico Biella of the Italian League, the San Antonio Express-News reports. He was the 57th overall pick in the 2008 draft after completing a four-year career at Maryland.

Our View: The Spurs are likely happy with this deal, as they will retain his rights while he hopefully logs a lot of minutes and improves in Italy. Gist obviously has zero fantasy valye.
Williams key to three-way deal?Wednesday 8/13, 11:39 AM CT
The Cavaliers continue to show interest in Bucks point guard Mo Williams. The two sides are working on a three-way deal that would send Williams to Cleveland, forward Joe Smith to Oklahoma City, and guard Luke Ridnour to Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Our View: We might not recognize the Bucks by the time October rolls around. If this deal goes through, Williams would likely lose a small bit of value despite moving to a better team. Ridnour and Ramon Sessions might battle for a starting point guard job in Milwaukee.
Kidd struggling in Beijing Wednesday 8/13, 9:20 AM CT
Jason Kidd has been struggling with Team USA in the Olympics, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. He is only averaged 2.5 assists and three boards over 14 minutes per contest.

Our View: He is being outplayed at guard by Chris Paul and Deron Williams, and could be in jeopardy of losing his starting spot on the team.
