NEWSBREAKERS NBA
Finley agrees to new deal with Spurs Friday 8/15, 3:20 PM CT
Michael Finley has agreed to re-sign with the Spurs, according to ESPN. Finley and the Spurs have reached terms on a new deal that has been submitted for league approval.

Our View: Finley garnered interest from several teams, but limited his preferred destination between San Antonio and Boston.
Jones released Friday 8/15, 1:21 PM CT
Bobby Jones has been released by the Heat, 10 days after acquiring him off waivers, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View: The addition of Yakhouba Diawara made Jones expendable to the Heat. He should continue to be bounced around the league, and isn't likely to hold much fantasy value.
Pargo to play in Russia Friday 8/15, 12:06 PM CT
Jannero Pargo has decided to leave the Hornets and the NBA to play in Russia for Moscow Dynamo, according to the AP. He reportedly agreed in principle to a one-year contract worth about $4 million.

Our View: He served as a valuable sixth-man for the Hornets as he averaged 8.1 points over 18.7 minutes per contest in 2007-08. The lure of guaranteed money in Russia beat out the most serious bids made by the Spurs and Hawks.
Williams 100 percent? Friday 8/15, 9:07 AM CT
Mo Williams states he is 100 percent healthy after undergoing right thumb surgery last May, according to the News Herald. Williams also had sports hernia surgery over the summer. He is also pleased to join the Cavaliers and said, "Change is good sometimes. You’re going to play with arguably the best player in America (James). You really can’t be disappointed about it. Life goes on. It’s a new chapter in your life. I’m prepared to take full advantage of it. I’ll fit in. We know who the leader of our team is as far as ‘The Man.’ We’re all going to roll with him."

Our View: Williams should hold solid fantasy value as a guard in Cleveland.
