D.J. Mbenga is scheduled to work out for the Heat on Monday, according to the Miami Herald. If all goes favorably, he will choose to sign with the Lakers or Heat.
Our View: He is not a scorer, but provides a big body as a 7-footer. Veterans Jamaal Magloire and Lorenzen Wright also are under consideration for Miami.

Jose Calderon will undergo an MRI on Thursday after straining the adductor muscle in his left thigh Wednesday, according to the Globe and Mail. He stated the injury feels fine, but the test was ordered as a precaution.
Our View: As of now, it seems like Calderon should be able to play in Spain's semifinal contest against Lithuania on Friday in Beijing. Spain is only one win away from a spot in the Olympic gold-medal game. |

Earl Barron has decided to leave Miami and the NBA as he agreed to a one-year deal with Fortitudo Bologna of Italy, according to the Miami Herald. He will make close to $2 million in Europe.
Our View: The Heat did not attempt to retain his services. He averaged 7.1 points over 19.4 minutes per game last season. |
