Our View: Shaq has not had the best summer, first with his freestyle rap dissing Kobe Bryant that got his deputy badge taken from him, and now this.

Celtics second-round selection Bill Walker has signed with the team, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Walker was taken 47th overall by the Wizards then shipped to Boston for cash. He will struggle to make much of a fantasy impact this season.

Our View: Miles has career averages of 10.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.15 blocks over 412 career games. He was originally drafted with the third overall pick in the 2000 draft by the Clippers. He is trying to rebound from knee injuries that were believed to be career-threatening.

J.R. Smith has re-signed a multi-year deal with the Nuggets, according to the Rocky Mountain News. Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed. VP Mark Warkentien said, "We’re extremely delighted to have J.R. back. His blend of off-the-charts-athleticism and long-range shooting ability is rare, especially for someone his age. We believe his best basketball is still to come."

Our View: Smith would hold solid fantasy value if presented with a bigger role with the Nuggets. He averaged 12.3 points on only 19.2 minutes per game last season.
Brown signs with Hornets Friday 8/22, 10:19 AM CT
Devin Brown has signed with the Hornets, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Petteri Koponen has decided to sign a four-year deal with Italian team Virtus Bologna, according to Blazers Edge. Koponen said, "This is a dream come true for me. I have signed a four year deal with Virtus Bologna, which includes a pretty good buy-out to NBA, that we were able to negogiate. Salary is as good as it would've been in the NBA."

Our View: The Blazers did not have a spot for him on the roster, and he could benefit while playing in Europe to develop his game.

Pau Gasol scored 19 points with five boards and an assist as he led Spain to a close 91-86 win over Lithuania in the Olympics. Rudy Fernandez chipped in 18 points.
