Johnson charged with simple assaultMonday 10/13, 11:56 PM CT
Chiefs running back Larry Johnson was charged with simple assault stemming from a February incident, according to the Kansas City Star. The paper reports that as Johnson was walking through a crowd of people in a nightclub, he assaulted a woman when he used "his open hand to push the left side of her head."

Our View: The woman did not complain for 11 hours after the reported incident, and there were no marks. The report states that the police waited so long to charge Johnson because they literally had better things to do, like work assault cases where damage occurred.
Ward wants answersMonday 10/13, 11:32 PM CT
Hines Ward wants to know if the NFL is targeting him after he accumulated $15,000 in fines recently, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "It would be kind of weird that I get fined and some of those players aren't getting fined. If I'm the only one getting fined and other players aren't getting fined, that brings up a huge question for me," said Ward.

Our View: Ward has always been a tough, hard-nosed player who enjoys getting physical and blocking. The NFL clearly has players they watch closer, and it would seem Ward is one of them.
Charles Evans passes awayMonday 10/13, 11:27 PM CT
Charles Evans, a fullback for the Vikings and Ravens, passed away at age 41 due to heart failure, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View: Evans played for the Vikings from 1993-1998, and for the Ravens the following two seasons.
Reed thinks he'll kickMonday 10/13, 11:23 PM CT
Jeff Reed did not practice with the Steelers on Monday, but believes he will be ready to play Week 7, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Our View: Reed suffered a groin injury two weeks ago, and will try to kick in practice on Wednesday before any further determination can be made.
Incognito lucky to have jobMonday 10/13, 11:00 PM CT
Rams right guard Richie Incognito was hit with a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for jawing with officials Sunday that pushed back the Rams' last-second field goal try from 34 yards to 49. If Rams kicker Josh Brown had missed that kick, Incognito may have lost his job, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “We had a long talk today. Richie got the point. If we lost the game, Richie might not be here today. Richie is a smart kid. He understands all that,” said coach Jim Haslett.

Our View: The penalty was enormously idiotic, and nearly cost the Rams the game. He is a notorious hothead who loves to scrap, but often does it at the wrong time.
Lewis gets into end zoneMonday 10/13, 10:50 PM CT
Jamal Lewis ran 21 times on the night for Cleveland, gathering 88 yards and scoring a touchdown in the Browns' victory over the Giants.

Our View: Lewis scored just his second rushing touchdown of the season, and though his yards per carry average remains relatively low, he's still going to grind out tough yards for Cleveland.
Burress makes smooth returnMonday 10/13, 10:48 PM CT
Plaxico Burress returned to the Giants off suspension and caught four passes for 58 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' loss to Cleveland.

Our View: Burress did not look like he had any rust on him. Only Eli Manning's poor night prevented Burress from having an even bigger impact.
Braylon breaks outMonday 10/13, 10:46 PM CT
Braylon Edwards finally had a big game, catching five passes for 154 yards and one touchdown in the Browns' 35-14 win over New York.

Our View: We're not sure where this has been, but we knew it was coming ... at some point. Hopefully for fantasy owners who used a high pick on him, these kind of games will become more frequent.
Jacobs rumbles for 67 yardsMonday 10/13, 10:44 PM CT
Brandon Jacobs ran the ball 14 times for 67 yards and one touchdown, but the Giants were overcome by Eli Manning's interceptions and lost to Cleveland, 35-14.

Our View: Jacobs did not have a tremendous night, but it was good enough for double-digit points in standard scoring leagues. Derrick Ward led the Giants with 101 yards on 10 rushes.
Anderson shinesMonday 10/13, 10:42 PM CT
Derek Anderson led the Browns to a 35-14 beatdown of the Giants by completing 18 of his 29 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns.

Our View: This was easily Anderson's best performance of the season, and keeps Brady Quinn on the sidelines for a couple more weeks at least.
Eli throws three picksMonday 10/13, 10:40 PM CT
Giants quarterback Eli Manning had a horrible night, completing 18-of-28 passes for 196 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in their 35-14 loss to the Browns.

Our View: That's the pre-Super Bowl Eli that fantasy owners have seen in their nightmares. We're not sure where he's been hiding, but hopefully he doesn't stay long.
Brooks to be releasedMonday 10/13, 10:09 PM CT
The Washington Redskins will likely cut rookie punter Durant Brooks, as they will bring in punters for auditions Tuesday, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Brooks was horrendous on Sunday against St. Louis, including one that went a pathetic 26 yards. He is last in the NFL with a net average of just 32.1 yards.
Benson in line to startMonday 10/13, 9:26 PM CT
It seems likely that Cedric Benson will take over the starting role from Chris Perry in Cincinnati, according to John Clayton of ESPN.com.

Our View: Perry has got little done, and he has butter fingers, which is a bad combination. But it's not like Benson has torn it up, with a 2.6 YPC average this season. And fantasy owners who had him last year will remember how painfully awful he was with Chicago.
Palmer won't need Tommy John surgeryMonday 10/13, 9:22 PM CT
Carson Palmer will not need Tommy John surgery on his elbow, as had been speculated, according to John Clayton of ESPN.com.

Our View: The situation seems to be that the elbow is simply inflamed, and there is no further damage. It is unknown when Palmer will play again, so fantasy owners will need a quality backup plan.
Porter not part of Jags' planMonday 10/13, 8:18 PM CT
In a surprising statement, Jacksonville head coach Jack Del Rio said wideout Jerry Porter was simply not going to be a part of the team's gameplan, according to the Orlando Sentinel. “He's just not a major part of our plans right now. He's been practicing. As a team we've been forced to move on, and we're not just going to force him back in the flow,” said Del Rio.

Our View: This is odd, as at the beginning of the month, Porter made it known that he was healthy and wanted the ball more often. He has one catch for six yards this season, and in light of this statement, is of no value whatsoever to fantasy teams.
Violation probation for Pacman?Monday 10/13, 8:06 PM CT
It is possible that Adam Jones violated his probation by being involved in an alcohol-related incident, according to the ESPN.com.

Our View: No word on what the consequences for Jones may be regarding this, but it was noted that Roger Goodell would have this factor into any decision about a suspension.
Torrence taken down by HaslettMonday 10/13, 7:25 PM CT
Redskins cornerback Leigh Torrence was taken down with a forearm by Rams coach Jim Haslett during punt coverage, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “He was going to run me over or I was going to get him. I got a good shot on him. You see those coaches that get toppled. That wasn’t going to be me. He’s not that big. It’s no big deal,” said Haslett.

Our View: You have to love that fire from a coach, no matter who you root for. Former Rams coach Scott Linehan would have probably let Torrence run him over.
Kitna on the block?Monday 10/13, 7:01 PM CT
It is possible that the Detroit Lions are shopping quarterback Jon Kitna to a number of teams, according to MLive.com.

Our View: Kitna is currently injured with back problems, so we're not sure how much a club would be willing do deal for a battered quarterback. The Lions are arguably the worst team in the NFL, though, so it is not out of the question.
Inactives for BrownsMonday 10/13, 6:46 PM CT
The inactives for Cleveland on Monday night are Kellen Winslow Jr, Ken Dorsey (3rd QB), Sean Jones, Hamza Abdullah, Kevin Shaffer, Scott Young, Martin Rucker, and Shaun Smith, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Winslow was in the hospital for three days, and was not expected to play tonight. He had an undisclosed illness.
Inactives for GiantsMonday 10/13, 6:44 PM CT
The inactive players for the Giants on Monday are Sinorice Moss, Lawrence Tynes, Sammy Knight, Danny Ware, Sam Madison, Jonathon Goff, Adam Koets, and Dave Tollefson, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Moss is deep on the depth chart, and Plaxico Burress' return makes him expendable.
Alexander may sign with WashingtonMonday 10/13, 6:41 PM CT
Shaun Alexander is visiting with the Washington Redskins and could sign a contract sometime this week, according to NFL.com.

Our View: The Redskins' Ladell Betts has a knee issue, but the team is otherwise set with Clinton Portis and Rock Cartwright, so forget about Alexander having much, if any, fantasy value.
Anderson records first sackMonday 10/13, 6:28 PM CT
Atlanta defensive end Jamaal Anderson, the team's first-round draft pick last season, got the firs sack of his career during Week 6, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: And all it took him was 20 games. Anderson wasn't injured or suffering from any other type of malady. He just couldn't get to the quarterback. Until now. Maybe it will take him a little less time to get sack number two.
Concussion is Stokley's 10thMonday 10/13, 5:53 PM CT
Broncos wideout Brandon Stokley suffered the tenth concussion of his career on Sunday, according to the AP.

Our View: Stokley said he suffered the injury on his first catch, but remained in the game to catch a touchdown. He had to leave after that, however, as the symptoms got worse. His status for next week is uncertain.
Walker hospitalizedMonday 10/13, 5:39 PM CT
Jaguars wideout Mike Walker had to be hospitalized for an infection in his right knee, and he will likely miss the team's Week 8 game, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The team has a bye Week 7.

Our View: The bye spares him one missed game. The injury was thought to be minor but clearly the infection hampered that diagnosis. Jacksonville plays the Browns Week 8.
Hasselbeck out Week 7Monday 10/13, 5:34 PM CT
Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will not play in the team's Week 7 contest against the Buccaneers due to his injured right knee, according to the AP.

Our View: The Seahawks have fallen apart this year, and this news certainly won't help them recover. Then again, Hasselbeck wasn't performing well anyway, to the disappointment of fantasy owners.
Harrell returns to practiceMonday 10/13, 4:42 PM CT
Packers defensive tackle Justin Harrell will be back practicing with the team after sitting the first six weeks while on the PUP list, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: Harrell was the team's first-round pick last season, and has battled injuries from the get-go. He has been a bust so far, but has a chance to shed that label if he can produce the rest of the way.
McBriar out 6-8 weeksMonday 10/13, 4:35 PM CT
Cowboys punter Mat McBriar will be out anywhere from six weeks to two months with a broken right foot, according to Matt Mosley of ESPN.com.

Our View: The injury occurred on the final play of the game when Arizona blocked McBriar's punt to win the game. He is one of the best punters in the league, as he was fourth in the league, averaging 49.0 yards per punt.
Burton will returnMonday 10/13, 4:27 PM CT
Rams rookie wideout Keenan Burton is expected to be back for the team when they take on the Cowboys this week, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Our View: Burton had been out after knee surgery. His return is a positive thing for the team, as they need all the speed they can get at receiver. Don't expect him to make much of a fantasy impact immediately, however.
Pace is questionableMonday 10/13, 4:25 PM CT
Rams tackle Orlando Pace is questionable for the team's Week 7 game against the Cowboys because of a strained quad, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Our View: The Rams can ill afford to lose the future Hall of Fame lineman for any amount of time. Adam Goldberg is his backup, and though adequate, the Cowboys will offer a stern test next Sunday.
Leonard put on IRMonday 10/13, 4:22 PM CT
Rams running back Brian Leonard was put on injured reserve Monday with a shoulder separation, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Our View: Leonard was fantasy-relevant for about two games last year in place of the injured Steven Jackson. But he's really a man without a position, as he's not cut out for running back and not big enough to be a fullback, so his presence won't be missed at all by St. Louis.
Manning out for seasonMonday 10/13, 4:20 PM CT
Cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. is out for the remainder of the year with a broken ankle, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Our View: Manning had a sack in the game against the Redskins, and was blitzing again when his ankle turned, breaking it. Fahkir Brown was re-signed to the team, helping ease Manning's loss.
Rams re-sign BrownMonday 10/13, 4:17 PM CT
The St. Louis Rams re-signed cornerback Fakhir Brown, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: Brown was inexplicably cut by deposed Rams coach Scott Linehan two weeks ago. He is a solid corner who played well for the team, and is back under coach Jim Haslett.
Metcalf suspendedMonday 10/13, 4:15 PM CT
Bears offensive lineman Terrence Metcalf was suspended for the next four contests for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, according to the AP.

Our View: Metcalf was a backup this season after starting for a period of time last season. He had knee surgery earlier in the year but did not miss significant action.
Lions contacted 49ers about WilliamsMonday 10/13, 3:53 PM CT
The Lions reportedly contacted the 49ers to gauge their interest in receiver Roy Williams, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

Our View: The 49ers could use a true No. 1 receiver of Williams' caliber, and coordinator Mike Martz has a connection with him during his stint in Detroit, but they are reportedly not interested. The Lions will have to find another potential trade partner to unload Williams, prior to Tuesday's deadline.
Jones to miss at least two weeks Monday 10/13, 3:46 PM CT
Following his MRI, Felix Jones is expected to miss at least two weeks with a strained hamstring, according to the Cowboys' official website.

Our View: This is a tough loss for the Cowboys, and fantasy owners, as the dazzling rookie was expected to play a larger role with quarterback Tony Romo out for 4-5 weeks with a broken right pinkie. Fellow rookie Tashard Choice will serve as Marion Barber's primary backup while Jones is out, and is worth a look in deeper leagues.
Parker resumes practicing Monday 10/13, 3:41 PM CT
Willie Parker resumed practicing Monday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He revealed that he was dealing with a sprained MCL. He said, "I'm ready to play, man. I went out there today and my main focus was to getting timing down, just practicing so I can help the team out the best way I can Sunday."

Our View: He expects to return to the gridiron this weekend against the Bengals, who currently field the 28th ranked run defense.
Palmer to be held out for Week 7 Monday 10/13, 3:30 PM CT
Carson Palmer will be held out for Week 7, with Ryan Fitzpatrick slated to make his third start against the Steelers, according to the Bengals' official website. Coach Marvin Lewis had yet to talk to Palmer since his visit Monday morning in New York with the Mets' team doctor. But he said "a further conservative approach" has been recommended for his inflamed throwing elbow.

Our View: Lewis will talk to Palmer about his options, which seem to range from Palmer playing in two weeks at Houston, or waiting until after the November 9 bye, or potentially shutting it down for the season. Fantasy owners of Palmer should seek insurance.
Norris re-signed by Lions Monday 10/13, 3:25 PM CT
Moran Norris has been re-signed by the Lions after placing safety Gerald Alexander (neck) on the IR, according to MLive.com.

Our View: Norris was released last week to create a roster spot for quarterback Drew Henson. He will hold no fantasy value.
Alexander placed on IR Monday 10/13, 3:21 PM CT
Gerald Alexander has been placed on season-ending IR after suffering a neck stinger Sunday against Minnesota, according to MLive.com. The team re-signed fullback Moran Norris to fill Alexander's spot on the roster.

Our View: Alexander earlier stated that the injury was nothing major. He won't be missed by fantasy owners in IDP leagues, as he only had seven tackles.
Fitzpatrick to start Week 7 Monday 10/13, 3:16 PM CT
Ryan Fitzpatrick will make another start in Week 7 against Pittsburgh in place of the injured Carson Palmer (inflamed elbow), according to the Bengals' official website.

Our View: The team is seemingly taking a conservative approach with Palmer, with the options ranging from Palmer playing in two weeks at Houston, or waiting until after the November 9 bye, or potentially shutting it down for the season. Fitzpatrick will not be a recommended fantasy option against the Steelers, especially without a solid running game to rely on and complement the passing game.
Rookie Jones slated for MRI Monday 10/13, 2:30 PM CT
Rookie Felix Jones is slated for an MRI on his strained hamstring, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Fellow rookie Tashard Choice would serve as Marion Barber's primary backup if Jones if forced to miss time. Jones has been among the most impressive rookie performers so far this season, as he is averaging 8.9 yards over 30 rushing attempts.
Hurd needs surgery Monday 10/13, 2:26 PM CT
Sam Hurd will need to undergo surgery for his high ankle sprain, according to NFL.com.

Our View: There is no estimate as to how long he may be out of action following the procedure. The fantasy value of Miles Austin would normally go up with Hurd out, but the team will also be without star quarterback Tony Romo for 4-5 weeks due to his fractured right pinkie.
Carney gets call for Monday Monday 10/13, 2:21 PM CT
John Carney will be the Giants' placekicker over Lawrence Tynes for Monday's game at Cleveland, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Carney has hit all 12 of his field goal attempts so far in 2008, and has been a strong fantasy option with 49 points scored overall.
Thomas inks with Vikings Monday 10/13, 2:08 PM CT
Dontarrious Thomas has inked with the Vikings, according to the Star Tribune. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. This is Thomas' second stint with the Vikings, as he served with the club from 2004-07.

Our View: The Vikings are gravely hurting at linebacker right now with star EJ Henderson (foot) out for the season, and with his replacement, David Herron, sustaining several injuries Sunday. Coach Brad Childress said Thomas should be able to play Sunday at Chicago, but added that it’s unclear whether Thomas will play strictly in the middle or rotate between all three spots like he did during his first stint with the team. He is worth a look as a flier in IDP leagues.
Edwards fully practices Monday 10/13, 2:01 PM CT
Trent Edwards, who has been recovering from a concussion, fully practiced Monday, according to the Buffalo News. The Bills are coming off their bye.

Our View: Edwards stated that he expects to play this weekend against the Chargers (31st ranked pass defense).
Parrish expects to return Monday 10/13, 1:55 PM CT
Roscoe Parrish, who is recovering from a thumb injury, caught practice throws today, and expects to be available to play in Week 7 against San Diego, according to the Buffalo News.

Our View: Parrish holds little value as a receiver, but is among the best return men in the league, and will help set up favorable field position for the Bills' offense to start drives.
Andrews to see another specialist Monday 10/13, 1:49 PM CT
Shawn Andrews, who is making little improvement from his lower back injury, is scheduled to visit his fourth different specialist today, according to the Eagles' official website. He will be examined by Dr. Robert Watkins in Marina Del Rey, California. Watkins, who is an orthopedic surgeon, has worked with teammate Tra Thomas in the past, among others.

Our View: The injury is not getting better like the team anticipated. We will keep you posted on the elite guard's status following his visit with Watkins.
Westbrook progressing Monday 10/13, 1:44 PM CT
Coach Andy Reid commented today that star running back Brian Westbrook is progressing from his rib injury and has a shot to return in Week 8 following the Eagles' bye, according to the Eagles' official website.

Our View: The Eagles will host Atlanta in Week 8, who are allowing 118 rushing yards per game.
Jackson misses game due to illness Monday 10/13, 1:36 PM CT
Brandon Jackson was unable to play in Sunday's game against Seattle due to flu-like symptoms, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: Coach Mike McCarthy believes he will be ready to return in Week 7 against the Colts. Ryan Grant registered a season-high 33 carries (for 90 yards) with Jackson out of action.
Harris could return after bye? Monday 10/13, 1:32 PM CT
Al Harris underwent a scan of his spleen today and there was significant improvement, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Coach Mike McCarthy said, "Obviously, we're moving in the right direction."

Our View: The test results will be passed along to several specialists to be examined. McCarthy said it would be realistic for Harris to be back after the Packers' bye, which comes in Week 8.
Rodgers gets through Week 6 fine Monday 10/13, 1:29 PM CT
Aaron Rodgers did not suffer any setbacks regarding his shoulder during or after Sunday's game at Seattle, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Coach Mike McCarthy said, "Hopefully, we're moving forward. He's sore again today, which is normal. He'll be dealing with that for some time."

Our View: Rodgers maintains a strong 98.0 efficiency rating, and has not been compromised by the ailment, as he has thrown at least two touchdown passes in each of his last three games, with three coming in Week 5 against Atlanta.
Rouse may return this week? Monday 10/13, 1:24 PM CT
Aaron Rouse suffered a head injury in Sunday's game against Seattle, but coach Mike McCarthy believes there is a good chance he will be available for Week 7 against the Colts, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: Rouse is merely adequate as a pro, but has racked up 25 tackles (19 solo) while aiding an injury-plagued secondary.
Pickett has strained triceps Monday 10/13, 1:19 PM CT
It has been determined that Ryan Pickett strained his triceps during Sunday's battle with Seattle, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: There was initial fear that he may have torn the triceps muscle, but an MRI today revealed that he only suffered a strain. It appears he will be back, but the team has to see how he goes through rehab to get a better gauge on how long the injury will keep him out.
Shockey has shot to return Monday 10/13, 1:12 PM CT
Jeremy Shockey, who is recovering from a sports hernia, has a shot to return to the Saints' lineup in Week 7, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View: This is encouraging news, but coach Sean Payton said he needs to see how Shockey looks in practice on Wednesday, and how quickly he bounces back on Thursday. Last week, Shockey practiced on Wednesday, but the soreness prevented him from testing the injury again.
Colston on track for Week 7 Monday 10/13, 1:08 PM CT
Marques Colston is on track to return to the gridiron in Week 7 at Carolina following his recovery from a thumb injury, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View: He practiced last week, but was deemed inactive against Oakland. Fantasy owners should be thrilled to get the rising star back this week, but expectations should be tempered against the Panthers' third ranked pass defense.
Manning had second surgery Monday 10/13, 1:00 PM CT
Coach Tony Dungy revealed that Peyton Manning underwent two surgeries on his left knee before returning to the field in late August, according to the AP.

Our View: Manning has repeatedly said he continues to rehab the knee, in which he had an infected bursa sac removed in mid-July. Manning missed all of training camp, all of the Colts’ five preseason games and did not return to practice until August 26. He didn’t look like himself until Sunday, when he passed for 271 yards and three scoring strikes and had his highest quarterback rating of the season at 134.7. Following Sunday's game, Manning said because of the extended absence, he felt like he was playing his first regular-season game.
Storer out for season Monday 10/13, 12:55 PM CT
Byron Storer will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL in Sunday's outing against Carolina, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: He was filling in at fullback for the injured BJ Askew (hamstring). Earnest Graham saw time at fullback Sunday after Storer went down, but the team must find a suitable replacement for Week 7against Seattle.
Perry on short leash? Monday 10/13, 12:31 PM CT
Chris Perry is on a short leash and the Dayton Daily News is speculating that the Bengals may analyze other options regarding their starter. Coach Marvin Lewis said, "We're going to look at all that. We need to look at it and take a hard look, and see what's the best thing for us to go forward. It's a combination of things. I'm not going to sit here and elaborate much on it now. We've got to do better. It's not good enough."

Our View: Perry only rushed 11 times Sunday, with a dismal 1.6-yard average, and is averaging 2.6 yards-per-carry for the season. He has also struggled with fumbles, which could lead to his demise as a starter. The top candidates to replace him would be Kenny Watson and the recently acquired Cedric Benson.
Muhammad day-to-day Monday 10/13, 12:18 PM CT
Muhsin Muhammad is considered day-to-day after suffering a knee sprain in Sunday's loss at Tampa Bay, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Lions shopping McDonald Monday 10/13, 11:58 AM CT
Adam Schefter of NFL.com indicates that the Lions are shopping receiver Shaun McDonald.

Our View: There has been minimal interest for McDonald so far, who is only averaging 6.7 yards on 11 receptions. The team featured him as a punt returner Sunday, in a likely attempt to improve his stock.
Samuels injury update Monday 10/13, 11:54 AM CT
Chris Samuels was unable to run with teammates during conditioning work today and could miss practice time this week with a sprained knee, according to the Washington Post. Samuels said he did not require further tests and is able to walk with a slight limp. He added, "I think I'm fine. It's a mild sprain."

Our View: He will get treatment and be evaluated throughout the week heading into Sunday's battle against Cleveland. Samuels is still an elite left tackle and the anchor of the Redskins' offensive line.
Houshmandzadeh twists ankle Monday 10/13, 11:48 AM CT
T.J. Houshmandzadeh twisted his left ankle in Sunday's loss to the Jets, but was able to return to the game, according to the Dayton Daily News.

Our View: The injury does not look to be serious, but we will keep you posted on his status heading into Week 7 against the rival Steelers. He has been the most consistent performer for the Bengals so far this season, with 38 receptions for 400 yards and three scores.
Williams eligible for activation Monday 10/13, 11:41 AM CT
Cadillac Williams is eligible to come off the PUP list this week and practice with the team, but coach Jon Gruden did not anticipate that happening right away, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View: Gruden said Williams would continue to work out privately and was uncertain when, or if, Williams would return to practice. If Tampa Bay deems Williams not fit to play after three weeks and he is not activated, he will be placed on the season-ending IR.
Stovall questionable for Week 7 Monday 10/13, 11:38 AM CT
Maurice Stovall will be questionable for Week 7 after sustaining a hamstring injury during battle with Carolina Sunday, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View: Stovall holds no fantasy value as a receiver, but has been solid for the Buccaneers on special teams.
Gruden seeking a fullback Monday 10/13, 11:33 AM CT
Coach Jon Gruden is seeking a fullback as a top priority after losing B.J. Askew for 3-4 weeks due to a torn hamstring, according to the Tampa Tribune. Fullback Byron Storer suffered a knee injury in Sunday's win over Carolina as well, and Gruden commented, "We’re in trouble at fullback."

Our View: Gruden used Earnest Graham at fullback and said there was a chance of using one of his tight ends against Seattle this week. There is also a possibility the club will try to sign a free agent.
Hoover injured Monday 10/13, 11:28 AM CT
Brad Hoover has suffered a compound dislocation of his finger in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers, according to the Gaston Gazette.

Our View: Hoover is a solid blocking fullback, but holds no fantasy value. The team is yet to determine how much time he may miss.
Betts slated for MRI Monday 10/13, 10:33 AM CT
Ladell Betts will undergo an MRI on his injured left knee today, according to the Washington Post. It is believed he sustained a sprain.

Our View: If he is forced to miss time, Rock Cartwright would step up as Clinton Portis' primary backup.
Romo out four weeks with broken fingerMonday 10/13, 10:31 AM CT
Tony Romo will miss four weeks with a broken right pinkie, according to ESPN's Michael Smith.

Our View: It was originally reported as a sprain, but obviously the damage was much worse. Veteran Brad Johnson will fill in while Romo is out.
Tillman sporting sling on armMonday 10/13, 10:06 AM CT
Charles Tillman was seen sporting a sling on his left arm following Sunday's loss to Atlanta, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View: He is believed to have aggravated his shoulder injury, but the team is yet to update his status.
Smith wants more targets Monday 10/13, 9:08 AM CT
L.J. Smith commented that he wants more passes thrown his way, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. He said, "I wish I had a little more opportunities. I can't really do much with one pass a game. I can't do it, nobody can do much with one pass a game."

Our View: He was only targeted twice Sunday against the 49ers, but hauled in a two-yard touchdown on his lone grab. He would be solid fantasy starter again if his targets start to go back up.
