Defenseman Bryan McCabe has been traded to the Florida Panthers, but before he goes, he wants to make the Toronto Maple Leafs pay one more time, according to TSN.ca. The players have been agreed upon, but McCabe will not be departing officially until at least September 1 because that would mean Toronto would have to pay him his $2 million bonus instead of Florida.
Our View: McCabe will join Jay Bouwmeester to become one of the top two defenseman on the team. It is difficult to predict his fantasy status until more is known about which players are going to Toronto from Florida. |

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed their coach, John Stevens, to a contract extension that will cover two years, according to the AP. "I love being part of this organization and the direction that the team is heading," Stevens said.
Our View: Stevens led his team to the Eastern Conference finals after they composed a record of 42-29-11. |
