The Blues are considering bringing back Brendan Shanahan, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Team president John Davidson said, "We've thrown our hat in the ring. When it comes down to it, Brendan has to make a decision that's right for him and his family. It could be New York. But we hope he explores the Blues as a viable option."
Our View: The 39-year-old could have at least one more productive season in him, as he contributed 23 goals and 23 assists over 73 games with New York in 2007-08. Shanahan is one of the most popular players in Blues' history, and would be nice to see him finish his career in St. Louis. |
