Donald continues to miss time with bum wristTuesday 7/29, 6:09 PM CT
Luke Donald , continuing to battle an injured wrist, has officially withdrawn from this week's WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

Our View: Before filing his withdrawal from the Open Championship, Donald noted he would need three to four weeks of recovery for the wrist, thus this decision was anticipated. It also puts his status for the final major of the season, the PGA Championship, in question. We'll keep you posted.
Norman takes a pass on final major inviteTuesday 7/29, 6:09 PM CT
Greg Norman has decided to say thanks but no thanks to an invite to play at this year's PGA Championship, according to SkySports.com.

Our View: Norman's rise at the Open Championship brought much acclaim and led PGA officials to extend the invite, but an already-loaded schedule and other commitments have led him to take a pass. You can bet he will be accepting an offer to play at The Masters next season, an honor earned with the T3 finish at the Open Championship.
Leaney done for the yearTuesday 7/29, 6:08 PM CT
We have learned Stephen Leaney believes he will miss the remainder of the PGA season due to struggles with vertigo, accoridng to the Sydney Morning Herald.

Our View: Leaney reports the condition was brought on by a severe inner ear infection and has been a problem for some time. Despite efforts to play through (as his finishes would indicate), the condition has been a major problem and has serious hampered his efforts on the course. If he misses the remainder of the season, a return in 2009 will allow him 10-11 events with which to earn approximately $650,000 on a major medical extension. Leaney has reported that he would like to attend his homeland's tourney, the Australian Open, in December, but only time will tell if he is able to take part.
Wetterich mistakenly listed in WGC fieldTuesday 7/29, 6:07 PM CT
Brett Wetterich , despite earlier reports from the PGA, is not included in this week's field at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

Our View: Upon release of the field, Wetterich was in the mix, but he has since been removed. According to PGA officials, it was a simple error. As we stand, Wetterich is listed to play at the PGA Championship, but his struggles for health (and poor finishes as a result) have limited his fantasy value.
Gibson takes a pass on Reno-Tahoe OpenTuesday 7/29, 6:07 PM CT
Kelly Gibson has officially withdrawn from this week's field at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open.

Our View: Gibson has filed a single PGA start this season and it is not surprising to see him pull out of this week's alternative tourney. He will be replaced in the field by 57-year-old Dick Mast.
Wilson pulls out of Reno-Tahoe OpenTuesday 7/29, 6:06 PM CT
Dean Wilson has filed for early withdrawal from this week's Reno-Tahoe Open.

Our View: Wilson has shown flashes of potential this season but missed the cut at the Canadian Open last week. He has reported no injury and thus we believe is simply resting for the week. He is replaced in the field by Mike Standly.
Gay withdraws from Reno-Tahoe OpenTuesday 7/29, 6:05 PM CT
Brian Gay has officially withdrawn from the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open.

Our View: This is his second consecutive early withdrawal, having pulled out of last week's Canadian Open. At times, Gay has been one of the better players on the course, but he has failed to break through at larger events with strong fiels. He was replaced in the field by Kelly Gibson who has since withdrawn as well.
Quinney takes the week offTuesday 7/29, 6:05 PM CT
Jeff Quinney , failing to gain entry (just missing the qualification) into this week's WGC Bridgestone Invitational, has officially withdrawn from the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open.

Our View: Quinney simply needs a rest, having filled a busy schedule with strong finishes and more than a few top fantasy performances. He will be replaced in the field by Trevor Dodds.
